Nabuco Chair in Brazilian Studies
The Stanford Center for Latin American Studies has been able to bring a series of both junior and senior Brazilian scholars to campus for short terms to lecture and do research at Stanford. Nabuco Chairs are selected through a competitive process on the basis of academic qualifications.
Nabuco Chair appointments include financial assistance of up to $3000 of housing allowance and round-trip economy class airfare. Nabuco scholars need to prove support (from personal funds, government aid, and/or university employment) of at least $2500 per month of stay.
Inquiries and applications are considered throughout the year, and final decisions may take up to 8 weeks from the time the complete application is submitted. Nabuco Chairs typically stay for 3 months and may start anytime during the academic year. Office facilities at CLAS are only available as space allows.
