The Journal Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz is a multidisciplinary journal which publishes original research throughout the fields of tropical medicine (including pathology, field epidemiology and clinical studies) medical parasitology (including protozoology, helminthology, entomology and malacology), and medical microbiology (virology, bacteriology and mycology).
In its latest issue (December 2014), the journal features several articles and researches ranging from Ebola to Malaria and Leptospirosis.
In the editorial section, José Rodrigues Coura and Hooman Momen made a study about the 2014 Ebola Hemorrhagic fever and the risks for Brazil. In addition, an article discusses the reliability of a test for Chagas disease applied in rural areas. Another article focuses on Malaria in pregnant women.
