\"\"<\/a>The dossier\u00a0Psy cultures: psychoanalysis, subjectivity and politics<\/a> (HCSM vol.24\u00a0\u00a0supl.1,\u00a0 2017) features a paper about\u00a0Psychoanalysis during the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985).<\/p>\n

The discourse of \u201cneutrality\u201d: attitudes of psychoanalysts during the military dictatorship<\/a>,\u00a0written by the psychoanalyst\u00a0Carmen\u00a0 <\/span>Lucia Valladares de\u00a0Oliveira\u00a0(PUC – SP)<\/span><\/span>\u00a0examines the position of Brazilian psychoanalytical societies and psychoanalysts in the 1970s.<\/p>\n

It shows that the period was a time of large investment in private clinics and a resulting \u201cmarginalization\u201d of the social doctrine. Psychoanalysis\u00a0over this period also was dominated by the discourse of neutrality and the primacy of internal reality to the detriment of external reality. Therefore,\u00a0 there was a\u00a0complete separation between psychoanalysis and politics.<\/p>\n
