DeBakey (1908\u20132008) was a legendary American surgeon, educator, and medical statesman.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Library of Medicine<\/a> welcomes applications for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/hmd\/informationfor\/debakeyfellowship.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael E. DeBakey Fellowship in the History of Medicine<\/a>.\u00a0Non-U.S. citizens may apply.<\/p>\n<p>Fellowships of up to $10,000 will be awarded to individual applicants to help offset the costs associated with visiting and using the NLM collections during the calendar year following the application and selection.<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be received by midnight EDT, September 30, 2017.
