href=\"http:\/\/www.scielo.br\/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0104-59702016000200495&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso&amp;tlng=en\" target=\"_blank\">Training in epidemiology and health surveillance: Tripartite Cooperation between Brazil, Cuba, and Haiti<\/a>\u00a0reports a training course intended to strengthen the operational capacity of Haitian professionals in epidemiology, surveillance, and health situation\u00a0analysis.<\/p>\n<p>The authors, Stela Nazareth Meneghel (UFRGS, Brazil) , Joyce Mendes de Andrade Schramm (Escola Nacional de Sa\u00fade P\u00fablica Sergio Arouca\/Fiocruz), Alcindo Ant\u00f4nio Ferla (UFRGS, Brazil) and Ricardo Burg Ceccim (UFRGS, Brazil) report their experience in the organization of a training course between 2012 and 2015 to provide support to Haiti\u2019s Ministry of Health in activities related to epidemiology and public health.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"aff2001\"><\/a>The course contained 320 hours of classroom activities, including field research carried out by these professionals in four topics: the history of epidemics and public health in Haiti, gender equity in health services, investigation of under-reporting of deaths, and
