The Cambridge History of Religions in Latin America<\/a> covers religious history in Latin America from pre-Conquest times until the present.<\/p>\n

Religion has always been central in the life of \u00a0Latin America, a region that\u00a0has more Catholics and more Pentecostals than any other region of the world.\u00a0However, the region is undergoing a rapid \u00a0process of religious change and has a very important role in the debates over religion, globalization, and modernity.<\/p>\n

This volume, published by Cambridge University press in April 2016, addresses the breadth of Latin American religion, including religions of the African diaspora, indigenous spiritual expressions, new religious movements, alternative spiritualities, and secularizing tendencies.<\/p>\n
