The article\u00a0Inhibition halos in the remediation of Amazon soils contaminated with petroleum<\/a>, written by the researchers\u00a0Nicol\u00e1s\u00a0Cuvi and\u00a0Monserrathe\u00a0Bejarano\u00a0<\/sup>analyses\u00a0the history of bioremediation of soils contaminated with petroleum in the Ecuadorian Amazon from 1994 to 2014.<\/p>\n

Investigating the development of a biotechnology aimed at cleaning Amazon soils contamined with oil, the article \u00a0discusses the different aspects of research and innovation in Latin america.<\/p>\n

According to the authors, dependence on foreign technology, insufficient internal coordination among research programs and institutions, and corruption all influenced this process.<\/p>\n

The researchers also examine what is needed to consolidate technoscientific processes of excellence on the periphery.<\/p>\n
