In the article\u00a0The dictatorship of agrochemicals<\/a>,\u00a0Leonardo de Bem Lignani and J\u00falia Lima Gorges Brand\u00e3o, PhD candidates at Programa de P\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Hist\u00f3ria das Ci\u00eancias e da Sa\u00fade\/Casa de Oswaldo Cruz\/Fiocruz relate the National Program of Agricultural Defensives\u00a0 (1975-1980) with the developmentalist policies of the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship and the debates on agrochemicals regulation.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0\u00a0A pesticide in Franco\u2019s regime<\/a>,\u00a0Oscar A. P\u00e9rez, professor\u00a0at Skidmore College,\u00a0 examines the communication and\u00a0representations of the toxic risks of hexachlorocyclohexane, an active ingredient of many pesticides commonly used in Spanish fields during Franco\u2019s regime. Emphasis is placed on the practices that visibilized and invisibilized these risks, seeking to establish the actors that promoted them and the mechanisms they used.<\/p>\n
