The Portuguese did not establish major settlements in North America during the colonial period, but they did become an important immigrant group during the late nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0Library of Congress exhibit<\/a>\u00a0celebrates Portuguese communities in the United States. Primarily,it documents the migration of Portuguese people to America and their subsequent settlement in this new homeland. It also highlights the Portuguese contributions to the exploration and mapping of these unchartered lands.<\/p>\n

Opening the archives project<\/a>\u00a0The project aims to digitize 100,000 U.S. government documents on Brazil from 1960-80 and make them available to the public on an open-access website.<\/p>\n

Influenza digital archive<\/a>\u00a0The website is an open access digital collection of archival material related to the history of the 1918\u20131919 influenza pandemic in the United States.<\/p>\n

Digitised mental health care archives<\/a>\u00a0The Wellcome Trust webstise holds online material on mental health, including information about UK institutions, patient diaries, artworks and photographs.<\/p>\n

History of Medicine: Online Syllabus Archive<\/a>\u00a0The National Library of Medicine\u2019s online syllabus archive collects college and university course programs in the history of medicine and related areas.<\/p>\n
