{"id":11139,"date":"2020-03-08T10:41:26","date_gmt":"2020-03-08T13:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.revistahcsm.coc.fiocruz.br\/english\/?p=11139"},"modified":"2020-03-10T22:23:27","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T01:23:27","slug":"women-in-sciences-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/revistahcsm.coc.fiocruz.br\/english\/women-in-sciences-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Women in sciences, a historiographical reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\">March\u00a02020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To celebrate\u00a0International Women\u00a0Day on March 8th, we have published once more this special issue\u00a0<a title=\"New issue\" href=\"http:\/\/historiographyofscience.org\/index.php\/transversal\/issue\/view\/11\" target=\"_self\">Women in Sciences<\/a>,\u00a0released by\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.historiographyofscience.org\/index.php\/transversal\/announcement\/view\/13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transversal: International Journal for the Historiography of Science<\/a>\u00a0(n0 6, June 2019), which features a historiographical reflection\u00a0\u00a0on women\u2019s contribution to science and technology.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10510\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/historiographyofscience.org\/index.php\/transversal\/article\/view\/114\/201\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10510\" class=\"wp-image-10510\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revistahcsm.coc.fiocruz.br\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Bassi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-10510\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Laura Maria Caterina Bassi (1711 &#8211; 1788) was an Italian physicist and academic. She received a doctoral degree from the\u00a0University of Bologna\u00a0in 1732, being the first woman to be offered an official teaching position at a university in Europe.<br \/><sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/p><\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"508.3696203535905\"><\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"508.3696203535905\">\n<p>This special issue\u00a0features two articles on\u00a0\u00a0two female figures, Helena Antipoff, one of the pioneers in the field\u00a0of special education in Brazil and Sofia Alexandrovna Yanovskaya, mathematician\u00a0and\u00a0historian specialized in the\u00a0history of mathematics.<\/p>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"508.3696203535905\">\n<p>Two studies provide an overview of the\u00a0current stage of research regarding women in Computing Science and in the history of modern logic.
