Technical cooperation between Brazil and Andean countries

The paper Education, ethics, and solidarity in international cooperation analyzes an experience in technical cooperation between Brazil and Andean countries: the International Course in Management of Human Resource Policies in Health (CIRHUS), supported by the Pan American Health Organization.

The CIRHUS project was developed between 2006 and 2010, and established a technical cooperation in health, deepening the development of human resources in South America.

The article is part of the dossier Bioethics and global health in the Americas. Rio de Janeiro jan./mar. 2015.

Janete Lima de CastroRosana Lucia Alves de Vilar and Raimunda Medeiros Germano (UFRN, Brazil), present the experience of a number of Latin American countries in this experience.

The paper concludes that fundamental values like ethics and solidarity are determinant to the success of technical cooperation processes.
