Scientific misconduct, a global problem

Edited from Elton Alisson | Agência Fapesp

According to Nicholas Steneck, Director of the Research Ethics and Integrity Program at the University of Michigan,  scientific misconduct is no longer affecting only great scientific powers, such as the US, UK and Japan. With the internationalization of science, plagiarism, data falsification and other kind of scientific misconduct are becoming a global problem.

In this interview,  given during the third Brazilian Meeting on Research Integrity, Science and Publication Ethics,  which took place at Fapesp,  São Paulo, on August 14  and 15, Steneck stressed that this problem should be tackled globally, with the cooperation between universities and research institutes around the world.
