The Latest Volume of the journal BJHS Themes “Learning by the Book: Manuals and Handbooks in the History of Science” offers an overview of how manuals and handbooks have contributed to the standardization, codification, transmission and revision of knowledge.
BJHS Themes is a collaborative venture between the British Society for the History of Science and and Cambridge University Press. It’s an open access journal published annually. Each issue focusses on a particular theme in the histories of science.
