Social Medicine is a bilingual, academic, open-access journal published since 2006 by the Department of Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Latin American Social Medicine Association (ALAMES). Registration with the journal is not necessary to read the content. Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.
The journal seeks to promote publications by authors who have been under-represented in academic medicine acting as a peer-reviewed academic forum for the development and promotion of social medicine. The journal is published quarterly in March, June, September and December.
