Current issue online!

June 2018

Our current issue (Vol 25 n2 Apr/May 2018) is already available online in Scielo. Readers will find articles that explore different aspects of disease. Some of them can help us reflect on the stigmatization of people diagnosed with certain pathologies. Some articles also explore how medical discourse takes part in the framing of behaviors and identities an the role of media  in the public debate on science, disease, and treatment.

In the editor’s note, our science editor’s André Felipe Cândido da Silva and Marcos Cueto discuss HIV in history and its stigma. Topics also include the role of epidemics and demographic collapse in Mexico and the Andes after the arrival of the Spanish, art in the treatment of mental illness and representations of yellow fever and cholera in the city of Buenos Aires between 1867 and 1871.

Enjoy the Reading!
