The Graduate Program in History of Sciences and Health (PPGHCS) at Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC/Fiocruz) is open for registration in its 2024 master’s program. Registration is free of charge, and scholarships are offered by the terms of CAPES (Brazil’s Federal Agency for the Support and Improvement of Higher Education).
Notices providing complete information are available on the PPGHCS website. Applications for the master’s degree program must be made between 18 September 2023 and 15 January 2024. According to the master’s degree selection notice, 15-course vacancies will be offered. Candidates who choose vacancies designated for affirmative action (people with disabilities or indigenous people) must fill out the appropriate form, as outlined in the notice. The master’s program offers five vacancies for those interested in this group.
The PPGHCS holds a level 6 score in the CAPES assessment and, within the scope of human and social sciences, aims to train highly qualified human resources for the development of research in the areas of the history of the sciences and of health, as well as teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The program has three lines of research: “History of the Sciences: Knowledge, places and practices,” “History of health policies, institutions and professions,” and “History of Medicine and the Sciences.” The program’s area of concentration is the History of the Sciences.
